About
That’s me circa 1979. My Mom and Dad would tell you that as a kid, I loved to read and explore things, and that I had a focus and drive that meant I wanted to make things with my hands, that were if not perfect, pretty darn close. In some ways, not much has changed.
Today, I have over ten years experience working in Visual Effects, from Games to Feature Films, and everything in between. Ever since I began studying 3D graphics in 1994, photo/paint manipulation within Adobe Photoshop has always been one of my strong suits, making Digital Matte Painting and Texturing something I’ve readily specialized in.
As a Digital Matte Painter, I have a demonstrated capacity for creating photo-real mattes, set extensions, and general filmmaking fix-it’s, within logarithmic space when required, and from 2K-12K frame sizes. And with my background as a 3D Generalist and basic Compositing skills, I have an intuitive understanding of the requirements necessary to integrate my matte paintings with Compositing and 3D. As a Texture Artist, I have long standing experience texturing everything from organic environments and characters to mechanical and architectural elements.
Recently, I have been given the opportunity to Concept and Storyboard, which I find a natural extension of my skills, and quite enjoyable.
